M-S DLTX Needles

Help, which needle goes where in a DLTX carburetor? One has a very gradual taper and one has a very short taper, and almost looks like a center punch. Which one is the "load" needle and which is the "idle?" I imagine there is an easy way to tell or figure it out, but I'm not seeing it. Thanks in advance. Frank, Tx

Earl-Il is right. The blunt needle is the load, the long taper is the idle mix. If your carburetor has clean passages, the initial setting is plus 1-1/4 turns for the idle, plus 1 turn for the load. After the engine is warmed up, those adjustments may need tweaking. If the adjustment of the idle needle doesn't make any difference, the carburetor will need further attention. www.popinjohn.com
