Dad had a local car/truck/tractor repair Shop update his late '51 built M to the M&W live 2-way hyd system, it had a distributor when shipped from FARMALL. the M&W kit used a cast iron pump, can't remember the name. In ALL the years those pumps have been in use I've only heard of one being replaced. I lifted a 800 pound concrete slab several years ago at just above idle speed. The old pipe framed Stan-Hoist loader didn't really like it.
The PESCO cast aluminum live pump on my '54 Super H was weak when we got the tractor in 1968. Our small flarebox wagon with the Midwest Hoist it would lift O-K, but the BIG 150 bushel Electric Wheel flare box with two feet of side boards it really didn't like lifting. Not sure of the brand but it had a 2 cylinder hoist that straddled the center reach, that let the wagon box sit down on the running gear. That BIG flare box was nice, hauled several 10,000# loads of dry shell corn to town one summer without ANY side boards. The EWC 8 ton gear handled everything we tossed at it.
I bought a new replacement imported hyd pump from Steiner a couple years ago, I will install it when I overhaul the engine. I hear on-line they don't last long.
