M transmission

Can you swap the entire top and bottom shafts,
or all the gears from a farmall m to a super m?
Does a m and a super m have the same
differential ratio?

Super M has a faster transmission. You can swap them back and forth, the pinion shafts should be the same. Just make sure you match the gears top and bottom. 3rd gear in super is a tad bit slower than 4th gear in a "M.

I just posted a picture of an M that I finally went pulling with and it has Super M gears in it. The differential is identical. Some say that the first gear was the same speed however the set I have is one tooth different in the tooth count of first gear making it slightly faster.
