Couple things I wanted to confirm, 1 wire delco and I put on an internal resistor coil. So one stud on the ammeter can have JUST the wire that goes to starter switch that also has battery cable?
Other question is the wire that was from the generator casing that goes back to box just gets eliminated?

In this post there is a diagram for the conversion. If you are using a diode to prevent run-on in the circuit feeding the number 2 spade terminal you can feed it right off the coil in your case because you are feeding it 12 volts. If you use a lamp as shown in the diagram you can use the wire that originally went to the field on the generator to connect to the number 2 spade feeding it from the ignition as shown through the lamp.
Edit: Whoops, I missed one wire. Then the diagram is still correct just ignore the wiring to the 1 & 2 terminals. The original generator field wire can be eliminated just disconnect and tape out of the way in the box.

The output of an alternator has to get to the battery in order to charge it WELL DUH ,,,,,

If there's a series ammeter between the alternator and battery, the alternator goes on the LOAD side of Ammeter and other SUPPLY side gets
to the battery, often where the big battery cables attaches to the input side of a starter switch or solenoid

Loads like lights and coil ignition switch etc wire to the LOAD side of an ammeter, same place where alternators output wires..

NO other old genny or VR wires are used. Alternators output to LOAD side of ammeter which is what the BAT terminal on the old VR system
wired up to

On an old Voltage Regulator system the VR's BAT terminal is what wires to the LOAD side of an ammeter and where the alternators output now
wires, but I usually upgrade the wire (Alternators output to ammeter and ammeter to battery) to 8 or at least 10 Gauge wire.

OFTEN the ammeters SUPPLY side has but ONE wire to the battery via the big battery cable on starter switch or solenoid INPUT, the LOAD side has TWO one to BAT on VR or new alternators output, other to loads like lights and ignition switches

Theres no need for diodes etc to prevent coil ignition back feed on one wire alternators, thaTS FOE THREE WIRE UNITS

Got it ???

Thanks John, believe me I've read alot of posts on here. And installed it the way of the diagram and a post from a respected member on here. What threw me for a loop was I watched a video from a company that sells these 1 wire kits (I pulled these brackets off salvage tractor). He did it different than the diagram. That's why I wanted to confirm.
