Did any Case DIs have magnetos? Just wondering because some military models on MMs had magnetos with shielded ingition systems to prevent radio interferences.

Yes most did. Some years are even had fairbanks mags instead of Case mag listed in the service and parts book.

how many knew that the "Case" mag was also sold and used on certain airplane engines they were that good!! just thought I would throw this in cnt

Thanks - the one I am about to restore doesn"t have a magneto - thought it should have had one. Oh well, some 1st Sgt probably had them rip it out and no questions asked.

I would bet the farm that not a single DI left Racine without a CASE Mag. Previous to '42 it would have been the base mount, then in '42 they switched to the flange mount. Like Nutty says, at one time, the CASE Mag was standard equipment on Cessena aircraft. Maybe others.

I know this is probably nothing you haven't seen before but I thought it was pretty cool where they put the hour meter.

Did the electrical system for the military tractors have shielded spark plug wires? Anyone ever hear of that before on Case tractors?
