Mahindra Tractors

What are your thoughts on Mahindra tractors two are going up at a retirement sale in a couple of weeks as far as parts go ont of their parts warehouse is less then 20 miles away to pickup the parts.

Some of the newer Mahindras are close to the same as
many British IH tractors built over 50 years ago.
Great power-trains. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one
if priced right.

Funny thing is - many of the new over-the-counter
parts I buy for my 1960 IH tractors come in Mahindra
boxes. I recently put an entire new steering
assembly in my 1960 IH B275. Came from Mahindra.

Neighbor has one for a few yrs now and likes it. I know the dealer who sells them and hes very satisfied with them. Knowing him they must be good or he wouldnt sell them we have a dealer who used to sell the Montanas but now i dont see any of them on the lot anymore.

I bought on 5 years ago new look at all the brands these are built as good or better then all the brands no problem with it so far. I know a few on here that were born with JD or IH stamped on their behind and will cut them down but they are a well built tractor and sip the fuel.

IH and Mahindra have had joint dealings for quite a while. I read in the WSJ a few years ago where Navistar & Mahindra were building a new joint engine plant.

Are some of the new John Deere compacts built by Mahindra? At
Empire Farm show we saw some that were nearly identical except
fot the hoods and maybe the engines....Someone had scraped the
paint off the manufacturers plate and it did say Mahindra......

My uncle bought one used probly 6 years ago, other than some kind of gunk fouling up thefuel system, he ended up putting a new tank on it, it's been a great tractor. It's a workhorse in the woods. I had a b250 international I think they come from the same place.

I purchased a 50 hp one new this spring. Cab,
heat/ac radio 4 wd and loader. Am very happy with
it. Have about 150 hours on it. Cut hay with a jd
1209, baled with a jd 336 with thrower. It handled
every thing with no problem. Did about 3000 bales.
Loader works great, as good as my Jd 5055. Wouldn't
be afraid to purchase another Mahindra. Can't beat
the price.

I love mine. Twice the tractor of anything else in
its class.

Sadly I loaned it to the neighbors last week (big
John Deere people) to run silage because their 4020
is down. I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get it
back. They seem quite fond of the red tractor.

I think Mahindra tractors are the best value of all compact tractors. I have had no problems with my hydrostatic drive 5010. Cab is solid and comfortable, and tractor is solidly built

Back in 2007 when I was looking for a new tractor, I shopped
Mahindra at my Blue dealer with his NH line. As stated, a good
reliable, solid tractor and seem to be aworld wide sales champ.

Problem I have with them is amenities. I am old and want it done
for me. Mahindra didn't come through nor did all the other
common colors.

So I bought a red Branson and haven't looked back. Want a
tough, well built tractor with standard amenities that will blow
your mind, have a look......when is the last time you saw a 65 hp
tractor with a high back, arm rested, electrical air pump
contained air seat.....just like the big boys in the 18 wheelers.
My Branson 6530 has one.

With India being part of the British Empire, Mahindra had contracts to build the British IH tractors for certain parts of the world.
They also built Jeeps and Kaisers for the Allies during WWII.
They were supposed to have some small diesel-powered trucks available here a year or two ago, but the deal with their distributor kept falling through.
