Maiden voyage report.

As several of you know, due to the many questions I've asked here, I've been slowly but surely getting the in frame overhaul done on my 8N. Well, everything checked out yesterday, after a good amount of break-in, so I took her out to the land today for some workin'.

All together I mowed about 30-40 acres today. The tractor performed flawlessly. Even did some mowing in stuff so tall I had to stand up to navigate. She was barely even on the governor in 2nd gear.

I wish she'd run a little more oil pressure, but then again I cheaped out and only did an in-frame rebuild. So the pressure loss is no doubt coming from the lower end. But she still idles around 10-15lbs, and runs about 25 while at workin speed. That's with 10w-40. I'll be running 20w-50 for the rest of the summer.

I checked all the fluids about halfway through the day, and she was about a 1/2 quart low on oil. But then again I never verified the level before I started either. So for all I know she might have been a little short to start with.

So I'm gonna give her an oil change now that I know she's all broke in good, and see where things come out on the next day of work.

All in all, I couldn't be happier. I had some frustrating times figuring a few things out, as some of y'all know. But I'm sure glad she's workin' now. Now I just need to figure out if I'm gonna replace the rusted out hood, or just leave her ugly. For now, she'll stay ugly. But who knows, I might just show her some love before long.

Thanks again to all here who helped me out. This forum no doubt saved me lots of time, and even a few $$ during this process.

Real happy to see the tractor rebuild worked out well for you. Sorry to hear some seller shorted you on your acreage though.
