Majic Paint question

So I have a gas tank that I recently repainted with a can of rattle paint from Majic Paints. I had heard good things, but after using it, I had to continuously shake it hard the entire time I was using it. If I stopped it would just spray propellent out and no paint. Is this normal for this brand? Or did I get a bad can?

Sounds like you were either spraying upside down or the tube inside the can was disconnected/damaged. Probably a 1 off but majic is garbage for reasons beyond the spraying issue, for what it's worth.

I have found in life that while now and then you can get a bargain, generally when you buy the cheapest you will be disappointed. With painting it is doubly so because we all know that good prep is the greater part of any prep job.

Sounds like the paint is old and you didn't shake it enough. You might put some gas on the paint when it dries. Unless you use a urethane, gas spills will usually lift rattle can paint and Majic doesn't have a very good reputation.

Majic paint is junk. I used a gallon of Ford Blue to paint a restored Ford 5000 and used the hardener in it and a top coat of their clear. Within a year it was fading and now is mostly peeled off. If you want a quality paint, you have to get an automotive paint.

Touche'. I've never liked Majic. You will learn that in the automotive paint material field, you get what you pay for.
Now, that doesn't mean you have to spend $250 a gallon for a primer and topcoat because you can still do a nice job with a quality primer and good ole syntheic enamel for half the price. Stick with name brands and follow instructions for the product to a tee. Preparation is key.

Majic is absolutely the worst paint I have ever tried to use. I wouldn't paint a rock with it. Rustoleum, Vansickle, or about any enamel you can buy at a lumber yard is better.
