Mantis Cultivator/Tiller

I have an old (25+ yrs) Mantis tiller that my wife uses in the garden. Still works great but it needs a gas tank. I called the Company and was told since engine was discontinued 20 years ago due to EPA, no fuel tanks are available. I have tried to repair with plastic fuel tank repair kit from auto parts store, plastic is too briddle to hold. Anyone know where to get a tank? I have checked most online parts houses.
Thanks and have a great day!

Check with a repair shop that does lawnmowers and tillers they may have a junker with a good gas tank. Hal

If it was like mine, it had a flat bottom, and when the level got low, it would suck air. I never did like that. It has two small tubes in the tank if I remember correct. One for pickup, and one for return or vent. If it were me, I"d build a small hanger and use a tank from any engine, and hang it with long tubing clamps, like you use on dryer vents. Then drill a couple of small holes in the top, and line with grommets, and feed the tubes in....

Go online and search for Kwik-poly. I have used this to fix plastic tanks. its an epoxy and gets pretty warm when setting up.
