What is you opinion on tractor manuals from Jensales? I am considering getting a set of operator, service, and parts manuals for my Farmall 706.

Heres my 2 bits: Do not bother. Generic 20 page deals that cover 30 or so years of all the manuafactures tractors. No worth the postage. Ebay is full of them. Factory only. They are available for most anything by model, so very helpful. I buy my older manuals off ebay a lot, sway meets literature dealers etc. That IH club should be very helpful, I imagine they have a newsletter, website or whatever. Not sure the name, power red, big red (or is that NE football?) shouldn't be hard to find out. My 1975 Case 1070 factory manual is over 2" thick, my mid 60s 830CK an inch and a half. Spend the time and a few $ you will NOT be sorry. Larry

I have a few and am not impressed. Pages missing, It will start to describe a process at the bottom of the page and the next page to continue is missing. Several repeats of the same page. The pictures are unusable, too poorly copied, can't make anything out in them. Spend some more and buy used originals from E Bay. Chris

I agree with the others. Overpriced for what you get. He has the manuals for just about everything so he gets away with it. I ordered the Cockshutt I&T and it was a poor quality copy. Can hardly make out the pictures. Looks like they just Xerox them over and over. Emailed them about it and got "Oh well, send it back for a refund minus shipping." I bought an Oliver OP manual from this site, it was Jensales. With the digital scanning and printing available today there's no excuse.

I ordered one of their manuals for a N-62 Continental engine and it was about the worst thing I ever tried to read. Poorly aligned with the printed matter. The pictures and charts were so dark you couldn't read most of them. A mimeograph machine could turn out better copies. I won't waste my money on any more from them.

I agree with the rest on here, I bought one and would only do it again as a last resort. check ebay or see if you can get a IT Manuel as they are printed better.

I can't remember the name. Was there not another company besides the IT manuals? It was a good copy of the service and operators manuals. Much better than the Jensales ones.

Two words: Binder Books. All they deal in is reprint IH manuals. I have several, and they're excellent quality. A bit pricey on some things, but do yourself a favour and spend the money. I highly recommend them.

There must be some unspoken universal law about tractor manuals. For nearly every tractor I've seen which was bought used, the manual was no where to be found. The same for the 3 point upper link.
