These were in a tub of manuals I purchased at auction
Both are dated 1950

Haven t decided yet
All of my Fords are 65/newer but 8N is what I first learned to drive
I was amazed to find original 70+ year old manuals in this condition
Have no idea of their value

These are not a rare find, a dime a dozen actually. The 1948 Ford 8N Operators Manual in French IS a rare find. Ditto for the Dearborn Cotton Picker implement. I know
of only one of these actual implements as not many were made as it was, and only less than one year. Go on ebay and plug in Ford Tractor Manual or Dearborn Farm
Equipment and see for yourself. It's nice to have copies of the originals. I have a collection of most all of the Dearborn Implement Manuals. Somebody (not FORD)
reprinted many of the original Dearborn manuals into one large issue but not all implements are listed and the pages are all in black and white. There are part
numbers on the manuals. The 8N is 3729 - xx- x with the year and a revision suffix letter after. Revisions were made as the model changed from front mount to side
mount and a few errors were in previous editions. I have all 8N's up to 3729-52-M. The original MPC's are good to have as well. FYI & FWIW, you also can find
original Model T and Model A Owner Manuals too.

The 8N manual is still being reprinted.

I purchased mine from a Ford dealer in the early 80s. It looks exactly like yours and has a 1952 copyright date on the title page.

An interesting story from a simpler era: in the mid-'80s, I was a kid interested in owning an 8N someday. Since this was before the internet, information was not the easiest to obtain, pre-dating the arrival of the farm supply chain retailers in my are . Naively, I wrote to Ford's tractor division, asking if there was contact info and maybe a list of literature that I could use to order with (a catalog, etc.).

A week later, I had a thick manila envelope sent to me in the mail, with a letter from the Ford corporate VP, thanking me for writing and encouraging my interest. I was rewarded with me a newly-reprinted 8N operator's manual, service manual, and some other materials. I still have all of that, and it was just the nicest gesture! (My letter could just as easily have been tossed in the trash regarding interest in a then-35-year-old tractor.) That era is long gone ...

great story, Denny. but sadly, those days are indeed in the past. this last week has been one long series of having to have a magic amulet to pry anything out of anyone. in the case of one company, i spent over 2 hours on the phone with them - i won't name them, but their name includes an A and a pair of Ts - and after those 2 hours+, i had still accomplished nothing.

it's so great, sitting here knowing i have to try it again and could easily end up with the same result.

as a businessman myself (retired, thank goodness,) i made it a point to be a person my customers loved to talk to. i think i did a pretty good job of it. but that species in general is nearly extinct. thank goodness for Amanda today - what a breath of fresh air it was to speak to a person who speaks english as their native language, understands the things u say, and gets things taken care of. Thank you so much for that, Amanda.
