tldnc, That tapered front does not relate to New Idea in my mind and memory. But the box itself sure screams New Idea.

There can be. If you are around a lot of hobby and horse farmers those small spreaders go for good money around here.

I'm just down here to keep from getting in trouble on Tales tonight with a certain post. It has all the design elements of the McCormick spreaders like the 200 except, the 200 was all steel. The steel sides are easily removed though and the thin sheet metal rotted out and could have been replaced with wood. If it is a 200, the chain covers on the rear are missing and I don't know where you would find them. IH on the other hand made a series of wood or steel sided spreaders with single number designations. Pretty old though and manure spreaders have notoriously short lives if not card for. Plus most of those had 4 wheels. I am betting a 200 with missing covers and replaced sides. But I have also been fooled by other brands who looked very similar. I would aggressively look for some numbers. Lot of collectors like the 100 series spreaders. The smaller the better.

I would guess that this is the same as the 200, and wondering if the 10 might be the same as a Model 100.
When I was a kid a neighbor had a 100, which was a suitable match for his Farmall A, while my cousins had a 200 which worked well with their Farmall H

It amazes me that in all my brochures and dealership junk I have laying around, I cannot find a reference to a 200-TW, but I absolutely agree that is what it is. Here is a link to one on ebay. See if you agree.
Mccormick 200 TW

This is a new idea spreader. my father had one just like it. i especially remember the jack. he bought it new in the early 1960's.

All the IH sales literature shows that jack. I admit to being fooled more than once from a distance by a NI spreader but once you got close no. I have not seen a reference to a model number or a photo or anything other than opinion to prove it is NI. I have a picture of the IH jack but did not see the point in putting it up.

I agree, it is definitely NOT a New Idea spreader!
