manure spreader

I'm looking for some help identifying a manure spreader I'm working on. I'll try to attach a picture. It has steel wheels (2) and the underneath of the bed seems to have been blue.

I've never seen a spreader like that, but it hints of IHC. I have a Mod 200 IHC that has some of the same features. Look at the apron chain to see what "size" the links are. If they are "S" links, then the spreader is definitely an IHC. You might check out some of the castings too, and you might see the IHC logo.

I believe its a IHC #4 that was horse drawn and has the front wheels removed and a togune added by someone. I think.

Thanks for the help. It does look like it could be a # 4 that has been modified, now that you mention it. I haven't been able to find any ID's or numbers on it or IHC. The links do look the same as a newer international spreader I have. I wonder if I could convert it back to a four wheel spreader. It works, except the mechanism that drives the main chain seems to be missing a spring-- the roller-type item that looks like it should drop down again after being pushed by the gear on the axle just stays up. Does anyone have a picture handy of that mechanism on a #4? John O

I have an operators manual for a McCormick Deering model 4-A that looks exactly like yours except it is 4-wheeled. That hitch on yours looks factory built! Very interesting! I'm more interested in the mower in the background. What is it and is it for sale? Thanks------Bill

The mower is mostly a M-D #9 regular gear. Someone used some hardware from a #6 on the pitman... Works good and not for sale- sorry.
I'm looking for a manual for a 4-a manure spreader but no luck so far. Does you manual show how the mechanism works that operates the spreader chain? I can see a place where the rotted out spring might go, but I'm guessing.
