I planted this tree as a seedling 35 years ago. For as long as I can remember, it has always been the last tree (of +- 600) on my property to drop it's leaves. That being said, they have always been down before the end of Nov. This year it must be channeling it's inner Oak.

I had that happen one year. All around my area in central Washington some trees didn't drop the leaves. Maples and some apples also. Here they said it was due to weather changing too fast. We had a warm fall then winter temps in a couple days. Leaves fell off during the winter. If you traveled south along I82 to lower valley there was sort of a line where trees had no leaves then all the leaves right next to them.

We have a yard of pecan trees and winter before last we went to bed with trees full of leaves and woke up to naked trees and yard looked like it was covered 6 inches in leaves. That was a first for me.

I have 2 oak trees in my yard, On one the leaves all turn brown but don't fall off till spring. The other one stays green until we
a 24 period of below freezing weather,

I have two soft maple trees in my front yard I planted as young saplings around 1980, Both native trees taken from near my property, they're about forty feet apart, the same one every year looses nearly all it's leaves before the other one even completely changes it's color from green. I always wondered why two trees from the same plot of ground, transplanted to the spot they are on now could react to fall so differently. God only knows I suppose.
