I have 35 year old 16 oz. container of mapp gas.It has been sitting in the bottom of my toolbox in my garage .Is it still fine to use it? The container is not rusty,in fact it looks almost new.I live in Kansas so it has been exposed to 20 below temps in garage. And hot temps in summer .

Screw on a propane torch and give it a shot. Should be fine. I bought a house a few years ago. There were a couple propane tanks that were priced 69 cents from Kmart. Don't know how old but they worked fine in my insect fogger. Mapp just burns a little hotter than propane

Maybe someone will want to buy it, as MAPP gas hasn't been made since about 2008.

There's substitutes on the market but they don't burn as hot, Map Pro, etc..

"MAPP (5300*F) burns much hotter than MAP-Pro (3730*F)" (From the 'net, you can do your own research.)
