Martin Angle wrenches vs Snap On/Cornwell

Never heard of Martin wrenches before. All I found is they are AMERICAN made! They are about 1/2 price of what Snap On wants and they offer the same 30 degree angle. So the Question is Have you Guys ever heard or used them before?

Martin has 5-6 tool factories in China as well as a few in Brazil - besides the ones in the USA. Not all their tools are American made, but I can't speak specifically on all the angle-wrenches. I have a few and they DO all say "made in USA."

I've got Martin, Mack, Matco, Proto, and Snap-On angle wrenches and most cost a small fortune.

I also have several sets of cheap Harbor Freight angle wrenches and for the price - they're not just fine - they are a huge bargain. I can buy a complete HF 14 piece set from 3/8" to 1 1/4" for what one wrench costs from Martin or Snap On. Same Martin set is $300-$400. Snap On set is $700.

So Harbor Freight for $20 versus 15X to 30X more at Martin and Snap On? It's a no-brainer for me. These $20 wrenches are lifetime guaranteed and I've yet to ever bend or break one. Nice as the other high-price brands? No, but they do the job just the same.

HF also has the "jumbo" angle wrench set that goes from 1 1/2" to 2" for $50. I have one Snap On 1 1/2" angle wrench that cost me $110 just for the one wrench!

Why would you buy China tools and give your money to China. Don't people see we have a problem in this country with jobs? Keep the work and money here in America.

Harbor Freight is a USA company selling mostly foreign made goods. Few USA companies do otherwise.

I suppose the components in your car, truck, cell-phone, computer, monitor, television, wireless device, watch, etc. are made in the USA?? I'll bet over 90% is made over-seas.
Next time you're sick and in the hospital, let me know if you refuse to get an X-Ray or MRI in a German-made scanner.

It doesn't bother me to sometimes buy foreign. Why? I don't regard blindly paying an extremely high price for something as supporting the USA. Yes - many other countries can sell products due to extremely low regs and labor rates. To the converse - much in the USA is way too high because of extremely high labor rates and over-regulation. I'm not crazy about supporting either -but when choosing two evils - I'll take the one that costs me a lot less.

Isn't this a Ford tractor forum? Does that mean you condemn anyone who owns a British designed Ford tractor? How about the three-point hitch invented by a Irishman? How about the diesel invented by a Brit and a German? The Brits and Germans are not only foreigners, we had huge wars with them - which I can't say yet for the Chinese. The Chinese though did help build much of the infrastructure in the USA in the 1800s.

Sorry but I'm not going to join you in condemning a country that is now in its "industrial revolution" like we had here once, years ago. The USA has gotten fat and lazy while some other countries are working hard. I DO hope that will change before it's too late.

I think you are closing your "eyes" to a very big potential problem: First,China has stole more technology from us and the rest of the world than you can shake a stick at. next they snub they noses at the rest of us reguarding ecology, citizenship, safety in the work place abuse of nateral resourses, etc. Far different than England. Not to mention their arrogant attitude toward worldwide business community reguarding playing on a level field with the rest of the world.Granted we (United States)have had an industral revolution but we have given back to the world almost to the point of foolishness.(rebuilding countries etc.)so we have paid our dues!!!I have said more than I should on this subject! but I drive: Fords,Cadillacs, dodges,GE products,Maytag products,Zeineth products frigidaire products, furnuture out of North Carolina,Sorry I do have Honda Goldwing my son reminds me quite often. i don't mind playing the game aslong as all thrules apply to everyone in the same way .AMERICA ALL THE WAY!! China can go straight to HECK in a handbasket

How about our USA exports to China? Exported products in the USA have risen more to China then to any other country in the past 10 years -almost 500%. In the same 10 years, imports into the USA from China have only gone up 100%.

USA exported 16 billion $ in 2000 and 100 billion $ in 2011.

At present, China is our 3rd biggest customer in the world. Canada is 1st and Mexico is 2nd.

I've almost got to laugh when I hear people complain about China "flouting" safety, ecology, etc. What do you suppose the USA was doing all those years during our industrial revolution? And when we DID start getting careful? The USA started sending our most toxic waste over the ocean to dump it in China. Give me a break!

Blaming China for our economic problems is ridiculous. Time for this country to collectively look at itself in the mirror.

You mentioned using "Fords,Cadillacs, dodges,GE products,Maytag products,Zeineth products frigidaire products" etc.

Your "USA" Dodge is a 100% foreign company owned by Fiat of Italy. Cadillac is also partially foreign owned. Maytag sells appliances made in the USA, China, Mexico and Germany. GE? I just bought a new GE freezer and it's made in China. And Zenith? Owned 100% by LG of South Korea.

LJD you must be a little "wet behind the ears" and the gray hair hasn't started coming in yet! If you think China has any compasion for the USA or mankind spend a little cash of yours and take a vacation over there. After you get back maybe you will have more "Love" for this country where you can travel as you want, sell your products to whom you want,(and have your own products to sell)own real estate, and be free to express yourself on fourms like this etc! Been there done that!and got the "T" shirt! No and it was'nt throught our military it was on my own dime!in closing I have always prefurred our style of Gov. to communisism maybe that vacation should be a "one way "ticket you do not seem to like it here!!
