Marvel Schebler TSX155

I have ‘53 MM U. After 20 minutes gas begins to leak out choke shaft seal/gasket, and when run longer it eventually runs out the throttle shaft seal!!! The sinter filter at bottom of bowl appears plugged. Is a carb rebuild in order?

How to clear the sinter filter?

Where to get TSX 155? The throttle butterfly is an oval - evidently hard to find.

sounds like the float/needle and seat isn't keeping the fuel level correct. Does it seem to be flooding the engine when this happens?

Yes, the engine does flood when this happens, and a lot of gas runs out the air intake when I remove the intake hose.

can this float/needle problem happen over tlime? Has the float developed a leak? I suppose no way to tell without a tear apart and rebuild.

TSX 155 is not correct carburetor for a U. Is from a 140 Continental. U should have a TSX 67. Would think is too small to start with. Dirty fuel getting underneedle/ seat? Hole in float?

Maybe I have misread the TSX 155 tag. Should it be TSX 624? The bowl clearly has Marvel Schebler on it.

Carb is off a 1955 probably a UB.

Yes, it is a TSX 624. The 1 is for January and the 55 is for 1955

Edited to correct typo of carb number.
