How do you remove a main jet seat that is rusted in place? I have in my shop a 901 that I had restored and then sold in 2017. The owner had not done anything with it since 2018, and it had a lot of rust in the float bowl and up into the main jet seat. I have been applying penetrant for two weeks and trying it periodically. I am thinking of heating it but I am concerned with getting a strong heat difference between the seat and the outer part of the housing even if I attempt to heat the whole thing. WWYD?

A few years ago the original carb on my 1950 Farmall C was leaking gas when it was running.
I know many people hate Amazon, I got an exact clone from Amazon for under $40. It has worked flawlessly.
Rebuild kits were more costly. Finding the exact gasket was my biggest challenge.
If you can't repair your carb I think there is no harm in buying a new carb.
I would look at YT parts first if you are not a fan of Amazon.

Water boils at 212 F, Try putting it in boiling oil. Oil get much hotter before it boils.

Geo-IN ,In- Do you know the carburetor in your attachment is a Zenith? Show crop is working with a Marvel Schebler? Maybe he can find that carb on Amazon too? To get the main jet seat out; Heat by some source.
let cool and repeat?

If it is cast iron, boil it in lye water for a while.

I don't know if he edited it, but in the picture that's attached right now is a Marvel clone for sure, not a Zenith.

Are you talking about #26?

So the nozzle itself is not coming out with a 1/4" drive socket (I think it's 3/8") and wrench? If not, I'd put the 1/4" adapter on my Milwaukee M12 impact gun and try that.

Otherwise, I also have a pencil torch for heating very small areas, though I've never had to use it on the nozzle.

The tube will indeed snap off just above the threads if you try too hard. Then its a careful drill out and chase the threads with a 1/4-28 tap. Just don't drill out the jet below it, which hardly ever comes out easily. I think the bake, cool, and bake again avenue might work. The dissimilar metals have different expansion rates. Add in some good penetrant as it cools. Might just be the ticket. steve

I would just heat the jet with a torch and let it cool. should come out easy then. Ron MN

If you read my post I said I replaced the carb is what my Farmall C which uses a zenith. .

Did you look for a replacement carb on Amazon??
My point was if you can't boil it in oil and repair it you can buy aftermarket carbs from Amazon and other places much cheaper.
Amazon

And rarely does a week go by without a poster telling about his problem with the amazon carburetor. No thanks.
