Massey 135 - plow size

I"ve got a 1975 Massey 135 gas three cyl. Perkins. I"m wondering if that tractor can handle a two bottom plow or if it"s going to be too hard on it. There for sticking with a one bottom plow.

With decent tires and proper ballast it should handle a properly set up 2X14 plow just about anywhere.

It should handle a 3X12 or even 3X14 in many conditions.

It depends entirely on your ground. On my place it's takes a 55hp tractor to reliably draw a 2-14 3 pt plow in sod. A 135 would be more at home with 2-10's here, 2-12's on stubble. So look at your ground and consider that in making your decision. Personally I'd rather have a slightly smaller plow I can always pull rather than one I have to shallow out in the tough spots.
