massey 253 lift

3 point lift arms chatter violently when raising at top of lift stroke they continue to chatter with engine at idle or engine reved up took lift housing off replaced piston o-ring and graphite ring they were worn out what else do I need to check

I have had a 250 and 253 with Hyd. problems that need new wire mesh filter on the suction line. You can clean them and think you have them clean but they are not. Pump was not getting enough oil. Replace them, they are not expensive. There are two different sizes and the dealer could not look them up by application. Needed to match them up. One is longer than the other. Sparex, I know makes both, as well as AGCO.

They go in bottom of housing, held in by a cap that has three bolts, if i remember correctly. You have to drain all hydraulic oil.

The 253 was jerky and the 250 lift arms would leak down when engine rpm increased. Dealer did not figure that one out.

thanks I just went and got a new one had a hard time getting it. like you said there are two different ones finally got the older parts guy who knew exactly what I needed. I forgot to mention I also took the control spring out and adjusted it per instructions. plan on putting lift back on by Saturday. if you think of anything else I need to check please let me know
