replaced piston Teflon ring--adjusted control spring according to information from you guys--replaced lift top back on tractor -still have no response using draft or position levers-- reaching through side opening I can push on control lever and the lift arms will start to raise but stop-- please help --anyone--pulling my hair out trying to figure it out--

I have a 1996 253 and it is having 3 pt lift problems. I have drained all the fluid and it was milky. My filter cartridge was partly clogged.

Per repair shop I added 3 gal of fresh diesel to clean the gear box and hydraulic pump valves. Shop told me to drive it about 3 or 4 minutes at idle and operate the lift a couple of times. Lift works great on diesel. I haven"t installed the trans oil yet because the sub filter looks nothing like my old unit. About an inch shorter and the filter section is about half as long.

I"ve been told by several folks these filter are usually the cause of lift problems. Hope it helps you some. Ken
