Been on here a few times and you all helped me in the past and it's appreciated. I'm back again. I have a 265 that has the power steering pump on the side of the engine, orbital steering valve with 2 lines running up front to a single cylinder attached to a steering arm that is splined to fit over a drop shaft that goes down under the tractor for the tie rod tubes. I broke my steering arm and ordered a new one from my dealer. Installed it today and my steering will go sharp to the right and not sharp at all to the left. Took the battery back out and if the wheels are straight ahead the chrome part on the steering cylinder is only sticking out about 2 inches, max. The splined shaft has a 1/4 inch with no splines so it will only line.up and slide down on the shaft one way. I'm at a loss here unless they gave me the wrong steering arm. Any ideas? Thank you

Parts book shows a 532219M92 for the pedestal shaft with that type steering system. Is that the part number you got?

I have that pedestal but what I broke is this part.

So how does it compare to the new part in relation to the position of the master spline? Your description of the problem leads me to think the part is either splined wrong or simply made differently than the old one.

I layed it in on top and it seems to be the exact same. Even the spline space is in the same spot. That's why I'm baffled

Are you SURE the pedestal shaft isn't twisted? What caused the first part to break? Impact?

It's not twisted. I hooked up my haybine and turned left and heard a loud pop. It wouldn't steer anymore. Didn't hit anything prior. The part that broke looks like someone before I owned it had beat it down on the stem because the master spline on the broken arm had a spline groove cut through it 3/4 of the way up. I've owned it for 5 years. This one has me scratching my head
