Massey 44 Diesel

Dieseltech is correct, and he's the expert on these pumps. There are a few things that it could be, but the seal on the gear pump on PSB pumps is a very, very, very common problem that causes oil to get dumped into the crankcase. See the thread in the link below for diagrams and alternative seal part numbers. I use the SKF equivalent seals myself (SKF #4231). Any Napa or industrial supply worth their salt can order the SKF seal. Or the Timken equivalent (#44258).

I removed the small gear pump from the injection pump and let it hang on the hoses. Sure enough, fuel dripped from the shaft seal. Contacted the local seal dealer. Should have a new one in a couple weeks. Has to come up from the States.

If you happen to be anywhere near South-Central Ontario I can give you one. Last time I ordered one was for a PSB in a Massey 555 and they accidentally gave me two.

I took that gear pump off because where the hoses thread to, it cracked due to overtightning. I put an electric fuel pump on, and it works great.
