I am looking at putting massey harris 30 front hubs and rims on a 44 massey for pulling reasons. my question is do i have to put an entire massey 30 pedestal on it or does the 30 spindle assembly fit the 44 pedestal?

I don't thimk the pedestals will interchange. Pull the hubs and check the bearing sizes. You may luck up and they are the same. If not, check with your local bearing house and give them the axle OD and hub ID to see if they have a bearing that will work to adapt. I put a 33 single on my 101 to loose 95 lbs. That helped me get down one class lower. It took some work, but it can be done.

The 30 spindles and stem assembly will fit right up in the 44 pedestal. Take the tin cover off the top of the steering box, there will be a nut to remove and the stem will slip out the bottom of the pedestal.
