Massey 55 engine shims?

Planning on building one 55 out of two. The engine from from one is going into another. Should the engine shims stay with the engine or should I use the shims original to the frame? Or is there a way I have to calculate it?

I would start with the shims that went with that frame, just add or subtract so that the bolts in the coupler line up nice.
