If you are trying to mow when the pto stops, I would suspect the pto clutch is out of adjustment or the clutch is worn and needs replacement.Hello. I have a massey 65 diesel, the engine speed pto works when the tactoris in neutral and raises and lowers, but when i put it in gear, the pto stops and the mower drops , so basically i lose hydrolics when the pto is in engine speed and in gear, any idea why?
The pto and the hydraulic pump use the same clutch. The tractor has a 2 stage clutch. A small clutch in the center and a much larger clutch on the outer edge. The small clutch powers your pto and hydraulics. The large clutch powers tractor motion.Than you...It was working fine in the engine speed position and suddenly just stopped working. The pto in neutral in engine speed works, then how does putting the tractor in gear make the pto stop working and all hydrolics stop as well? I guess my question is what is the relationship between the pto and all hydrolics, is it the clutch adjustment?
I don't have any experience with a bad lever. Mine has always worked fine.Great! That makes sence and i underst. One other if you dont mind...the lever that engages the pto engages well into ground speed and neutral, but has way lots of play in it and doesn't engageunless I push it till its about in the11 o clock position .

When you push the clutch pedal all the way down the PTO on the hydraulic pump will stop that's normalThan you...It was working fine in the engine speed position and suddenly just stopped working.
