is there anyway to get this contential 277 diesel on tdc no 1 cyl without removing fuel tank to get to the valve cover to check push rods to make sure its on comp
stroke as i need to remove fuel pump to get it rebuilt i really dont want to dissamble half of top anybody has one of these the fuel tank covers the valve
coverand ideas? thanks in advance

You dont need to do any of that, just align the PUMP internal marks FIRST and engine will be coming up on number one compression stroke. When pump marks align flywheel should be at 20 degrees BTDC anyway.
