hey fellas, i went and looked at a MF 50 today and noticed that when i went to engage the lever on the left side of the tractor to use the 3 pt hitch it was grinding somewhat? i did have the clutch pedal depressed when doing this. i let off the clutch pedal and then the owner just shifted it right in without a problem. is all OK here or do we have a problem,, thanks

If it is grinding it probably isn't fully disengaging. If you let the clutch out and then the owner engaged the pto, did he engage it in ground pto. These tractors have a ground pto and then the engine pto. You should not be able to engage the pto without using the clutch. You might also have him hook it to something that needs pto to work and then depress clutch and see if it stops turning? Let us know what's happening.

Make sure you idle it down as low as possible to engage pto, maybe that was what the owner did. The new dual clutch pack is only as good as the guy who put it together, I've heard of clutch packs being out of adj. from the start.
