Hi, I have a question and I hope all you knowledgeable people can help me. I lost my husband last year after 43 years and I have a tractor that I am going to sell, it actually used to be my dad‘s anyway it is a Massey Ferguson model 102 and the serial number is 43818
My question is I have no idea what year it is. I have always thought in my mind It was around a 1960. It has a bucket and a blade. Can any of you knowledgeable people help me with this I’ll attach a couple pictures. Thank you so much. I live in Melba Idaho.

My condolences on your loss.

What you have posted is the "tag" on the LOADER, there will be another "tag" on the tractor itself showing the tractor's model number, likely somewhere on or below the instrument panel/control pedestal.

Also, someone else may come along and recognize the tractor, from what little is shown in the photos.

I am very sorry to hear about your husband.

The serial and model you posted are for the loader as wore out stated.

It's a 202 (manual transmission) or 204 (automatic transmission). 1960 is about right. Does it run or have any major leaks? The tire is about out of tread. Here in South Jersey, $4k would be the very top.

Pictured is my 202. 1958 ish.

Thank you both very much. I am going to have my grandson get the tractor out so that I can get some better pictures of it tomorrow. Hopefully if it isn’t raining and then I’ll post some more pictures to show you guys more and I will look for that number where you stated it is And I saw that my picture that I took did not come through as far as the model number on the tractor and the serial number, but I will try to do better tomorrow and I appreciate both your answers and the time taken to do so God bless

As per the tag it is a model 202

Here is the breakdown of the serial number

J = Industrial
G = Gasoline
M = Dual Stage Clutch
306940 is the sequential unit serial number, it a 1962 tractor. The 1962 serial number range was 306779 to 307922 according ti the list on TractorData.

It has the model 102 loader, 3-point hitch, and having the Dual Stage Clutch the PTO is what is called a "live" or "continuous" PTO.

If the dampness on the rear tire is from tire valve stem it would appear it has loaded rear tires. If it is leaking while setting there may be a tube issue and rim damage.
