Massey Harris 30 - engine/transmission coupler

[2N-M5-MH30]

I wish to swap the engine from one MH30 to another.

I am wondering what is the best way to remove the couple chain?

After 70 years they are certainly "rusted".

Could a little heat hurt the chain?

Is this a standard chain? What number?

Is this available as a part from some where?

I would soak it with some oil first, it should loosen up. If not, cut it off and
replace it.... too much slack in a worn out chain....a good machine shop should be
able to get one.

Get the old one off and the size of chain is stamped on the side link. If not, match it up.

Bad news here is you have to order in 10 foot lenghts.
