After reading and researching I need to replace the bushings and pivot shaft for the forward reverse control valve. These bushings are in the bellhousing area of the transmission case. This area houses the torque converter and the pump for the instant reverse clutch packs. This is on a 2500 Forklift and to separate the engine from transmission is major surgery. Tractors are relatively easy but not this forklift. I was wondering if I could possibly bore an access hole through the bell housing to gain access to remove the linkage to the pivot pin without breaking the engine away. I could then pull the pin and replace bushings. Is this feasible or am I wasting my time. It looks like on newer tractors like the 30e Massey put a bolted access cover on top of the bellhousing on tractors equipped with the instant reverse.
