I put a new piston and rings in a new lift cylinder on my top cover last week. Today, I was installing the linkage, putting the PTO shaft, etc in. I've got the draft boot to do(I didn't even know what the draft nut was, I just ordered it with the boots. Glad I did, it is pretty beat up). I'm basically done. So, I was thinking of any bolts I needed to check or things I might need to take care of before I put it back together.
It occurred to me that I don't recall looking for dots on the piston rings. Are these beveled? Do I need to take it back apart and check for dots? It was on the 4th and I had a few beers but I still know about dots on rings and I think I would have noticed if they had been present.
Looking at the picture where I bought them they don't appear beveled or to have dots. All 3 are visible in the picture. I might actually finish today if someone can reassure me. I really don't want to take it back apart once the tractor is 100% reassembled. It is currently floating in the air on my gantry.
