Masterforce Impact wrench

Anyone have a Masterforce 1/2 inch impact wrench? A friend of mine has one and swears by it, any ideas pros or cons.

Don't know about that brand but I brought out my old half inch electric impact hiding on the shelf and kick myself now for not using it a lot more. Bot it 40 years ago to screw in roofing screws for the barn roof. Not sure of brand but it is orange and it has plenty of torque. Much more versatile than the air powered ones.

Master Force is the Menards house brand. I have a couple of Master Force power tools and they are junk, but have not had an impact. I would look further though. There are a great many brands out there now, and quite a few are reasonable prices.

I believe mine is a Masterforce. It is corded that is 15 or so feet long. Only complaint is it does not wind down very fast after you let off the trigger. Tigger is a little back wards in design as close to the barrel is reverse and to the end of the handle is forward. Mainly use it to take stuff apart and when putting it together only run the fastener down to snug and retorque with a wrench. Mine will easily over power my air impacts to the point only the 3/4 drive might had more torque. Use it a lot in the garage and have not been using the air driven ones (cheapies) hardly at all as I would need to fire up the compressor which I leave off now.

I recently bought an $80 corded electric 1/2" impact from Harbor Freight. Works great except it's bigger and clunkier than my IR pneumatic impact.

I have similar issues with the corded HF impact I have. I don't think I'd ever use it to put anything back together, but it's great for removing bolts fast. The first time I used it to take off an electric clutch and I was laying on my back and forgot to disconnect the wires to the clutch. The bolt came out so fast and the clutch slipped free from the vertical shaft that suddenly I found myself on my back trying to hold the heavy clutch to prevent it from tearing the wiring harness loose. Managed to set the wrench down and find a reach some cribbing before I dropped the clutch.

Masterforce power tools are made by Chervon, one of the 10 largest OEMs of power tools in the world. Contrary to rumor, they are not rebadged Maktec tools made by Makita. Who makes Masterforce cordless tools?

Mar 03, 2021 Yes. Menard, Inc. owns the brand, but the company does not manufacture the tools themselves. Instead, they contract that part out to tool companies. Therefore, your Masterforce tool may be made by the same company that makes DeWalt or Milwaukee.
Masterforce hand tools are made in USA.

As said, Masterfarce is a Menards brand.
I think of them as about 10% above the quality of stuff from Harbor Fright and never buy any of it.
