McCormick 31 - H/M Loader

I was wondering something about my loader. In the manual it shows the no31 loader with a foot on each side. I assume it s for the extra leverage for pulling fence posts and stuff. The one I bought didn t have them and none of the pictures I ve found had them in either.

Was there some reason they were removed? Or was it optional? Something else...?

Farmers often removed them because they can be a pain! Yes, the are helpful when removing compacted manure - the loader's primary use was as a "Manure Loader." However, it is difficult to maneuver the tractor until they are clear of the ground. Therefore, many farmers removed them.
