McKee Model 750 Snowblower

I bought this used with a 1000 PTO drive. It's a good blower and the right size, but my tractor has 540 PTO. It doesn't work well at the slower speed. Any suggestions on how to increase the speed? I know the speed change can be achieved on some round balers by simply reversing the g/b. Maybe I could buy another g/b and fab a suitable support, or make the speed change with additional sprockets/chain just before the final drive sprockets on the auger ends.
I think the speed change is a more economic way to go than replacing the blower.
Thanks
Peter

Most blowers, including the McKee 750 I owned have the shaft going straight through the gear box to the fan from the PTO. That means that the fan should be spinning at the same speed as the PTO speed. The 750 I had did a great job and was a great little blower. I traded it for a 8' Raths and wish I had the McKee back. You should be able to change the coupler and be in business unless there is a different set up on your blower.
