MCV Question

What is the best way to remove the MCV on a 706?

Should I drain the Oil first? If I remove the MCV without draining oil, how much oil will come out. Where is the proper drain plug?

Yes drain it, plug is in the center of tractor just fwd of where hitch attachment is located. While it is drained slam a new hyd filter in it and new fluid. After you install MCV don't forget to bleed it good, I prefer bleeding thru the MCV port instead of cycling steering. it can be alittle messy but gets the job done.

On the aft side of MCV there is a plug, I"m pretty sure it"s 5/8", remove it start tractor get ready to shut down quick due to fluid flow, reinstall top off hyds if required.
