Anyone have any tips or tricks to get more umph or horsepower out of a standard MD D-248 engine? Im trying to go a little different route than everyone else using the gas engines. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I have a friend that pulls 2 md"s in stock classes. His smtad dynoed at 55hp, i believe all he did was mess around with the injection pump for a little extra hp. In lighter classes they are too font end heavy, but they do pretty good in heavier classes. Goodluck!

if you have a good running MD and you take out the belly pump you can get it down to 5500. I pull stock 3mph IN 5500 AND 6500 with 14.9x 38 in 1st gear. It seems to work better then 15.5's in 2nd gear in 5500. You have to turn the pump up and the RPM's up. On some tracks you can do OK. 7500 lb is a little heavy for a plane MD. I have a 400D that I pull 9500/10500/12000 and do pretty well with it. Its hard to get it to hook up in 8500.

ditto on the light classes cant seem to get my Super MD to hook well in 6500 but do pretty good in 7500 i have a wide front to boot, kind of insult to injury there...
