MF 1105 - 1135 Questions

Saw a MF 1105 for sale and really never considered a Massey bigger than the 285/1085. Looking it up, I've been reading about both the 1105 and 1135 and from what I have read, these seem to be very good tractors, including the multi-power and cabs.

I might want to investigate one of these tractors for 9ft discbine duty.

A few questions...

1. What are the differences between the 1105 and 1135 other than HP?
2. How are these tractors to split and/or engine rebuild? Is this something a local tractor mechanic can handle? Reason I ask about the "local" mechanic is I know some other tractors have quirks, complicated set-ups and even require special tooling and/or brand specific knowledge to do a major repair. Hopefully one wouldn't be needed, but over time if the clutch needs replaced or and engine rebuilt, it would be good to know this is something some local would/could do vs a specialized shop.
3. If the multipower goes south, does that mean the tractor must be park or can you continue to use it in high range indefinitely? I assume one can delete the multipower if necessary/wanted?
4. How does the cab complicate servicing/splitting the tractor?
5. Is there room in the cab for another person to ride along occasionally?
6. How is the parts situation on these old tractors?
7. When looking at one of these tractors, what should you check for - what are the red flags?
8. What kind of hours can I expect? JD 4020, IH 856, etc., I've seen or suspected the hour meter tripped and 3000 hours was 13,000 hours. Are these typically high hour tractors or were the nature of their use - 5-6000 hr hour tractors?
9. Are these tractors good disc mower conditioner pulling tractors? Plenty of power and weight for a 9ft with some moderate hills?
10. Are these models much more heavy/stout than a 285/1085 tractor?

Any sage advice is much appreciated.

Thanks!
Bill

Only difference I am aware of between the two is the turbo and fuel pump setting.

If looking at one be sure the hydraulics work correctly. The charge pump is their weak spot. Shows worse once the hydraulics are up to temp.

Cab is one of the biggest of that era. Not the nicest or quietest, but plenty of room.

I own both 1105 and 1135, they look the same the main difference is the turbo, front tires. The front tires are both 11x16 but
the 1135 has a 8 lug wheel where the 1105 has 6 lug. The turbo is different, probably the reason it's rated 10-12 hp more. The 1135 had alittle more power but maybe because it was newer and less hours, other than the decals, you couldn't tell the difference

Bill, I happened to pick up the Mar/Apr 2018 issue of Heritage Iron at TSC. It's got a pretty in depth article on the MF 1130 and it's differences from the 1105.
