MF 1135 Hydrostatic Steering pump

Howdy all,

I have a slow, but steady leak of hydraulic oil running out from the steering area by the foot throttle. I assume this is coming from the hydrostatic steering pump (either an O ring, or hose connection).

My question before i start fooling with this myself, is how much pressure are the connections under, and how do i relieve it? Is it safe to just disconnect it? I have the service manual and it does not say anything about relieving pressure, so i wanted to make sure that there isn't an understood step here that i'm overlooking. Is it only under pressure while running?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I'll take off the dash side panels, and clean out the dirt and grime and then crank it up and see if i can tell where the leak is coming from first.
