MF 135 1 wire install

I’m trying to get information on how I need to wire up a one wire alt. I have a voltage regulator and an inverter on my 1970 diesel ( which I haven’t seen running yet). What shortcuts can I take?

From what I can see on the schematic in the book it must be a/c d/c device. Guess my tractor was a gen model

This is it in red

Diesel. The schematic is blurry and all the wires have been removed from the engine(rats I was told. I thought remove the wires to the inverter. Wire the ign switch straight into the alt and no regulator wires. Maybe move any wire needed to power up something would come fuse block. Not inatalled

What's an inverter?
The "inverter" is a power supply used to make AC voltage at around 250-300 Volts to power electroluminescent ("Panelescent") dash gauge backlighting.

The system was popular in 60's Dodge/Chrysler cars and several farm tractors used the system.

I wasn’t going to wire it back up. Running lights from a fuse block off of the power from the ignition? Thanks for the information.

In stock form your tractor did not have an “ignition switch” a switch activated by oil pressure when the engine started energized a circuit to the voltage regulator. The voltage regulator had a circuit that fed the fuel gauge. Those were the only things that required power when tractor was running. There was a “start” switch and that was it. The fuel shut off stopped the engine. The lights like most all road vehicles and machinery had direct power from the ammeter and would turn on regardless if the engine was running or not. I would follow suit with that and not wire your lights through any type of ignition switch.
The white 10 gauge wire 2nd from the bottom of the diagram posted by wore out (designated above the two head lights) is the wire that will run to the terminal on your one wire alternator.

From the front of the gen gauge the wires are swapped on my tractor. It has the terminals reversed than y’all’s Positive appears to have the ignition and the white wire

That MAY be a front view vs. a rear view.

Upon startup, if the Ammeter reads backwards, simply swap the wires between the studs.
