MF 135 3cy perkins starter issue

Having an issue with my starter. I had a coolant leak above where the starter is and ive fixed the leak. But now every other time i crank you can hear the starter engage but then makes a whiring sound. I pulled the starter off and as i was leaning it back coolant was coming out the back end of it. What are my possible issues here? I turned the key while i had the starter off and had a lil spark come from the solenoid it look like but the bendix pops out and spins and when release the key it pops back in.

With coolant inside the starter, it should at least be taken apart, cleaned and dried. While doing that the commutator, brushes and bearings should be checked and renewed if needed. If you are not familiar with starters you might want to take it to a shop. Assuming it was working properly prior to this it shouldn't be too expensive to have it gone through.
