MF 135 Electrical Question

Me again, the newbie. Please help. New switch, coil, plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, points, condensor, and rotor. Properly gapped plugs and points. Turns over but no spark at plugs or coil wire. I"m sure I have juice to the points because I double checked the gap with the key in the on position and, well, it was a shocking experience. Am I missing something? Safety switch of some sort maybe? Remember I"ve never started a tractor, so please don"t be afraid that you"ll insult my intelligence. Thanks

Nevermind. It's amazing what happens when you gap points correctly. After posting my question, I read the correct way to do it under "Tune-up Guide" on this site, and bang, a good spark. Seems I gapped the points when they were closed on the flat section instead of the raised lobe section. I've got fire and compression; now I just need fuel. Rebuild kit is on the way and the carb is sparking clean now waiting for it. I'll post how it goes. This is too cool.
