MF 135 engine block

Could it be possible that the head gasket is not correct in some way? Are all MF 135 engines the same? Not familiar with Masseys. I'm basing this on experience with a 1960 Pontiac 389. Later engines had relocated oil passeges to the head. Parts house sold us the wrong gasket set. Got the car out of the shop on Friday and Sunday noticed a loud squeak coming from the heads, My Dad knew immediatly what had happened. Monday morning we had the car cack in his shop and changed out the head gaskets and by 4:30 I drove it home. That's just my 2 cents. If I'm way off base, just give me my 2 cents back and we will never discuss this again.

NOTE Step 5...Verbatim /from MF service manual Information from MF AD3.152 SERVICE MANUAL

Install a washer under the NUT on the cylinder head stud,shown by NO. 15 FIG 16.

This stud uses grip rings on it to prevent the installation of another head gasket which is similar and could be accidentally installed

Is your engine indeed a Perkins AD3.152 ?? (Mf 135)

Many vintage Tractors are suffering from previous owner Syndrome.......LOL

I have seen the three cylinder Perkins Diesel A3.152 installed in a MF 35.

I own a 1963 MF 35 X on my property since new.....1963.

I'm not sure how to correctly use the forum when I just have general questions or comments. Sometimes I'm not interested in addressing an individual.

Update on my project. Finally got willing and pulled the head after I applied air pressure thru the injector ports and got a positive response on the middle cylinder. Planning to clean it and put a straight edge across the block and see if there's anything real obvious but I'm still trying to blame the problem on those aftermarket bolts. Not willing to buy available OEM through the dealer at $90 each. I've gotten a couple suggestions to use my original ones.

Don't know how well you can see in my picture but the gasket deformation appears to extend into the cylinder. I wondered how cylinder pressure would do that....

I think you're on to something now that it did it again. You said the head has been checked so deck problem? Sleeve protrusion issues?

MF Manual 1448 811 M1, indicates the AD3.152 Diesel engine liner flange.....is Flush to 0.004 below top face of block.
Tighten cylinder head nuts....55-60 ft. lbs torque
A Rea-Torque with engine up to operating Temperature
Engine coolant "Thermostat installed"
