MF 135 Hydraulic question

I just got an MF 135 that for now I want to use to run a wood chipper. I have the chipper hooked up to the tractor but cant seem to get the lift to do what I want it to do. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if I have a problem with the tractor. According to the operators manual I should be able to control the height of the implement with the position control lever. It says to put the draft control lever in the up position and use the position control lever to raise and lower the implement. The draft control lever raises the implement but the position control lever does not do anything. Am I missing something or do I have a problem?

I suspect you may have the levers backward? The draft control, when up, shouldn't lift. The position control does the lifting. So, put the other lever up, and use the one that lifts to do what you want and see how that works for you.

Agree. The position control is on the outside, draft lever-inside, closest to the seat. For either to function-fully the other must be all the way up. To use the splitter, constant pumping must be used, which is on the topmost of the draft lever quadrant, blocked from normal selection by a metal stop that is made so you spring the draft lever outward and slide it past the stop. Your operators manual has all that too.
Be advised constant pumping can overheat the hyd fluid and pump; that's in the manual too.

I think you guys are right, might have been easier to figure out if my quadrant were labeled but the writing on it is long gone. Thanks.
