MF 135 Stuck Shifter

I was shifting from reverse to first gear and the shifter stuck. I can move the large cog forward and backward but in the back position, it starts to shut down the engine. The shifter lever won't move anything. I had this happen once before and had to remove the top plate to gain access and found that the lever had jumped over a small pin that apparently kept it from going too far back. I pried the fork back over the pin and everything worked. I thought that I had left myself a memo last time to not try to force anything when it does stick and simply move the cogs back but, I forgot and forced it. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and is there a way to resolve it by not removing that plate.

Yes, I can move the cogs with the pry bar but the shifter still feels stuck in position. I think the shifter fork is hung behind that little pin. I had this before and as soon as I flipped the fork to the right side of the stop pin it worked fine. I was just hoping that I didn’t have to pull the top plate to get to it.

IF a fork is broken the shift cover will need removed and a rear trans/diff joint split done to remove the shift rail on the broken fork.
