MF 165 loader

I've been wanting to put a front end loader on my MF 165 tractor but I don't know what loader fit other then the 236 I was wondering if there are any other loaders made by other companies that would work for this tractor thanks

Welcome to the forums.

Many other loaders will fit. The issue is the loader mounts for your tractor. Mounts are not universal, in general. Unless you are willing to get into fabrication in one way or another, you need to find a loader with the tractor mounts that was on a 165 or a sister model that used the same mounts. Many sell used loaders without any mounts.

I know that doesn’t give you info on what makes and models to look for but you need to consider and include the mounts as well as just loader in your search.

I have a Farmhand F225-A on my 180, required minor fabrication at the rear and at the control box but it came from a 175 so i knew it wouldn't be perfect. So that model will fit a 165. There is also an F225-B which is similar. Oliver and IH had Farmhand make some of their loaders so some of those would fit as well since they are the same as the F225. Even a 236 would need the right brackets as there are many brackets in that parts book.

Freeman built a number of loaders that fit the 65/165 many also fit the 50/150. The 135 used a different mounting system. I have a Freeman loader on my 65 diesel and a Brushhog branded Freeman that came off a 65 gas. The first one bolted directly to the tractor for the front mount the other one has brackets that bolt to the tractor.

I have a MF232 that came off of a MF165. I was planning on putting it on my 230, but the front bracket for the smaller tractor is hard to find. Front for bigger tractors are in the bucket of pic 2. I’m looking for a smaller tractor mount, a bigger tractor, or to sell this in Texas

I adapted a mf 100 from a 135 to my 165. Difference was front mount . It was fairly simple to do even with my amateur fabrication skills.
Do you have any pictures of this? I know of a mf 100 loader for sell that was on a mf 135, I’m looking for one for my mf-165. What did you have to do to it for it to fit?

It involved cutting off the pump mount for the 135, making the mount for the 165. Was fairly simple as the pump mount for the 165 is cast into the bolster. Might be tomorrow evening before I'm home with daylight to take some pictures. I am very happy with the 100 loader. The head pipe used with a loader is unavailable so I wound up having one bent and welding a flange to attach to the manifold. The standard 165 muffler is too big diameter to clear the loader arms, I just used a straight pipe but I think there are some that will work. Check for pics tomorrow night.

I’m adding pictures of my tractor and of the loader. My tractor has a straight pipe already, did you make mounts to mount it to the side of the tractor?

Top left 165. Still haven't figured out sideways pictures. Lower right 135.

Kinda hate to let the craftsmen on this forum see my welding. It was easier to use 1" steel to make up for the narrower width to attach to the weight bracket than build it in with 3/8. Where the weight bracket bolts across the bolster I had to make a cutout so the pump could bolt up. Ordered the correct shaft for 165 from Yesterday. Added some steel under the pump to compensate for what was removed. The double bend in the exhaust is to move the stack rear ward to an area with a little more clearance. It's working very well for me. The hydraulics are very fast compared to any other tractor loader I've used. Enough so it took a little getting used to and I operate logging equipment for a living.

It looks like you did a good job on it! Thanks for sharing all of that! I’m not sure if I’ll buy this one or not yet, It don’t have a bucket with it.
