MF-165 REAR WORK LIGHT

I’m trying to get my rear light working. I think I have it figured out with the flasher inside the light bucket for the amber safety light but there is also a bulb socket just laying loose inside the light bucket. Does anyone know what this could be for? It seems to me that if it was on you would never know and it would really heat up the wiring inside.

That small 12V bulb attaches to the work light reflector. When the 3-way switch in the housing is set for driving on a road, it shines through a red reflector so you have a rear red light at night.

Ahhh. So that’s why the back of the sealed beam light is red?
