MF 165 temperature gauge not moving

Just fitted a new temperature gauge to my MF165 and ran it at 1400rpm for 15mins and the gauge has not moved. Should it take this long?

Hi James,
First check, is there sufficient water or coolant in it? If your weather is cold as it is in the UK at the moment then probably the engine will not heat much. 1400 rpm is not a lot. Would be better to take it out on the road for a good blast. Alternatively place a sack or similar around the outside of the grill to cut down air flow. Run it up again and you should see the needle move.

Thanks for the reply. I am in the UK, cumbria so it is a bit chilly.
Might take it ploughing this weekend and give it a good blast down the road.
