Mf 175 Multi-power

Ok so I’ve got hydraulic pressure at the T for the multi-power. I’ve got 150psi at idle. Then about 250psi at high idle. So now what’s my next process of elimination ? I’m thinking the shifting linkage valve in the case for the multi-power. Feel free to comment thanks.

Also the Tractor holds on a hill when placed in 1st gear. It does not hold in reverse. This helps determine something. What I don’t know?

I've seen the internal Bellcrank linkage bolt break, then the MP spool won't move in/out for MP to shift right..

So what would that entail, pulling the shifter lift cover to diagnose and repair?

Nope, a clutch access split for the MP shift spool valve. It's on top of the PTO input shaft retainer..

Split the Tractor at the clutch, that would be my next step?

Are you saying that if you park the tractor with the front end pointing uphill it holds in first but not reverse? I
suspect that if you park it with the back end uphill it will hold in reverse, but not in first. That really doesn't
prove anything as far as Multi-Power function.

The front of the Tractor was uphill. It would hold in 1st not reverse. I didn’t try it vice versa.

The MP has a "Hill Hold" feature, test it this way. With tractor going forward uphill, MP in Hi, in a FORWARD gear tractor will not roll backward with the clutch down through the FIRST stage, it will roll back with both clutch stages disengaged. Same way in reverse backing uphill, will not roll forward until clutch has both stages disengaged OR MP is shifted to LO..

It does NOT prove the MP is in high! The tranny will hold a parked tractor in low IF the force is in the opposite direction of the gear it is in.

I’ve removed all the wires and linkage. I’m down to the split now between clutch and engine. I’ll post pictures when I do.

I am in the middle of the same thing on my 165.
I found 2 issues on mine. the pump screen was a 100% clogged and the front plate on the mp clutch was shattered into 1 inch pieces. I have no idea how that could of even happened. I am just waiting on parts now.

This photo I stole on a 165. I assume it’s the same as a 175 MP. That bolt is for MP linkage? Trying to rule out possibilities with my MP.

the upper right corner of your picture. the L shape is a fixed bracket. The bolt through it is the pivot for the arm. The round vertical to the right of the pressure fluid line is the linkage that goes out the top of the bell housing.

Sorry, not talking about a 'parked ' tractor - talking about stopping on a hill with engine running and clutch fully depressed. If in 'Hi' MP tractor will not roll back, if in 'Lo' it will. Jim

It definetly rolls back with clutch depressed.
