MF 184-4...does the transmission share the same fluid as the PTO hydraulics if so what type fluid..If not where do you fill for the pto?

I am going to guess the PTO shares oil with the transmission, most tractors do. The Masseys I have do, and I expect that one (Landini built) does as well.

An Operator's Manual will give you info on service points and required lubricants. Here is a link to a place you can order an Operator's Manual.

Yes, It's a common reservoir. The fill point is the hexagonal plug/dipstick on the front right corner of the transmission cover. A helpful trick: When I add/change the fluid. I set a 5-gallon bucket on the seat and use a siphon hose. I use one of the store-bought hoses with the marble check valve. It's slow, but it works and beats the juggling act of trying to pour into a funnel.
